I've been wanting to make one of these for a while, but needed a good excuse to do it. I'm a complete amature when it comes to applique, but I'm willing to try anything. I should be a novice at applique by the time I finish my boy's quilts. Lots of applique! So, when a neighbor came over last week to see about having a vinyl board made, I suggested this instead:
She will be attaching ribbons and hanging this from an existing shelf in the baby's room. I let her choose her fabrics to match the room and I love how it turned out. The name is appliqued onto muslin and then I did a triple quilted frame around it and then the whole piece is stretched and stapled to a blank canvas. This would have made an adorable pillow too. Well, she hasn't seen it yet, but I hope she likes it as much as I do. Maybe I like it so much simply becuase it's girly...Baby Jane is the 4th girl in their family. We can't seem to figure out how to make girls at our house.
really cute lorinda

Oh, I love this idea. Once our TBA arrives (due the end of March) I can make one. We don't know what we're having so I have to wait......
